Today I arrived to find this well I almost jumped out of my skin with excitement....
ALL IS ON TRACK FOR MONDAYS SLAB POUR... (if the weather holds)
I never realized what a feat of Engineering these Waffle Pod slabs are ... OMG look at it...
In a way I am sad I wasnt there to see it being put together but OH WELL you cant have EVERYTHING lol although you can try... |
This is the pic that made me go OMG look at how HUGE IT IS ....
This was taken from the Backyard facing the streetscape...
This is where the Therapeutic massage spa is going right wher eyou see those slats of wood... and left over crushed rock... AHHHHHHhhhhhh I can feel it already...
That front bit is the boys garage thought I better take a piccy of that eh ? :-)
The smallest part of the backyard this is where the aviary I just bought will go see piccy below with my 4 bourke parrakeets in it... A feature to enjoy when your in the Spa... AHHHHH
The larger part of the Backyard Narece is exploring it eheheh .. Low maintenance thats what Im talking bout NO MORE GUILT ...
You can just see the cut out for the alfresco that will also be concreted ... then we will get the concreters back at the end to pour the slab for the aviary, the driveway and perhaps a path to the washing line...
Sandarra has started palnting out the Nature strips it will so Lovely once its all established ..
Lots of Family walks in the evenings me thinks ... NOICE
Well thats it from Moi for now ... will keep you updated on Monday with the slab pour ... then we start getting serious... Our Building Super says we will be at lockup by Xmas... Heres Hoping...

The Prep for the Slab is Happening ... Excited very very excited...
The site is Cleaned ready for the work to commence...
And then came Garden Taps ... Our special town water and A grade unlimited recycled water.... With this we can wash our cars, water the garden clean the paths, etc without worrying about water restrictions ... Yay!!
The Piping, Electrics and DotCom Cabeling goes in ...
Then we got our Meter Box in ...hmmm sticks out like a sore thumb eh ?
Then the crushed rock moved in after the plumber did his job very nicely as you can see by all the nice straight pipes sticking out everywhere... WELL DONE I SAY...
Here is a close up of the silt pit I think they call it that goes around the entire home... its for drainage I believe... And that is where we left off yesterday... Go to the next entry for the thing that had me jumping for joy ;-) |

Meeting scheduled !!
Ok guys here is the latest, the contracts administrator got our site file late yesterday arvo. She then wrote us an email to advise us of our new contacts the construction supervisor and the site supervisor and that in future during construction I am only to call them lol this is after Monty lost the plot and called her he has since spoken (after siting a Day and a halffor a return call)to her supervisor who will look into it lol AS IF..we think it's a Line. Oh and he also mentioned to Monty that there was a problem with our roof but we couldn't be told what it is as the guy didn't have that info Hmmmm nice of someone keeping us informed, which is really all we have asked for from day one... Anyways the contact name we were given was a totally different guy from the one that called us yesterday (y did that not surprise me)he has scheduled a meeting at the Huntclub to review our sitefile with us ... So I'm guessing tuesday is Dday... Fingers, toes, tongue , eyes all crossed that these new contacts will redeem the Dennis Family Corp in our books. So until then!! Will keep u posted Mwahhhhhh from us to u xxx

The Procrastination Continues.....
Yep you guessed it .... Theres still no movement on the site .... Something about Engineering bla bla bla and the site file will Appartently be finished and ready tomorrow... What a Crock ... I thought hmmm so do we have a date .. NOOOO we do not ... Now it goes to Production who pass it onto a Building Supervisor or some title who will contact me within ........ ready for it 7-10 days... NOT HAPPY JAN!
So here we gooooo more waiting ... I tell you what they really know how to ruin the building experience for someone.
Is it really so bad that I just want to see some movement.
I just think it is extremely unfair that they have my money and I have an empty block ... This house has been 12 mths in the planning and I have NOTHING to show for it which makes me very

Update for you
Ok here we go.... Emailed our Contract administrator today and apparently she has the updated plans and has contacted the Surveyor for the permit.
She told me last week (when we were about to go to site) before the stove height saga that once the surveyor issues the permits the crew can start pretty much straight away... hmmm we will see ... cant blame me for being a skeptic eh?Monday, October 11, 2010
The Excuse is Pathetic. Read Below for details.
Hi Cxxxxxx,
I have just got off the phone to Paul and I don’t quite understand how the height of the Cooker of all things could hold up the beginning of site clean and Slab pouring. I don’t see how they are related, if you could explain that to me perhaps that would help.
I was chased by Dennis re paying of deposit and finance and contracts etc etc for what ???? Why did Paul and I have to rush to get things moving when almost a week later we are still not on site or are still not even sure if we will be starting at the end of this week or perhaps it will be next week now.
As you are aware we paid the BOD before it was due in fact we did it on the day we got the invoice so as not to delay the start by even one day. Production would have known about the cooker height when they got the requisition 2 weeks ago? You did say to me when we were having the problems with Westpac not being able to do their job that that would be the hardest thing I would have to deal with and from there it would get easier as I would only have to deal with the Building ... well im sorry to say we still havnt started and we are still having problems.
I am very disappointed to say the least, as you could probably hear on my phone message yesterday. Will Dennis be able to guarantee me that the house will get to lockup by Christmas?
I’m not so sure now.
Please help me to understand how the cooker height is related and ultimately affecting the site start, clean and slab pour when it is not going into the house until probably after the Christmas break.
Thank you.
Deniz Marchmont
Im Simply Dissapointed and Sad to report that there is still no progress!!!
Well I am getting very disillusioned with the whole building thing atm....
Yeppos you got it right there is still NOTHING HAPPENING ... what was supposed to be Thursday, became Friday and I in my stupidity believed that it would Definitely begin today ... So I worke up early and went to have a look only to be SEVERELY dissapointed YET AGAIN.
I had my temper tantrum and basically now just feel empty.
Thats one way to destroy someones enjoyment of an experience....
Hope after the ummmm shall we say ... brisk message I left for our contact there will be movement tomorrow...
Very Dissapointed ... and it was such a Beautiful day too !!!
Heres to Tomorrow being better.
xxx Till then xxx

The Waiting Continues....Ho Hum
Well as with anything, where you rely on the efforts of others... we are still waiting on them to release the site file... Hohum Production now says it will be tomorrow .... Once that happens apparently they need to get the Surveyer to give the permit then they can go to site... SO ALAS MORE WAITING ... as if 12 mths of it wasnt enough ... damn the Universe is providing me with yet another lesson in Patience lol SO till tomorrow when I will hopefully have some good news.... I will be working Nightduty tonight so will be asleep till Lunch.... Keep those fingers xed that tomorrow willl be the day and that they wont make us wait till Monday... xxx
Oh and we sign our new Mortgage docs on Saturday YAY one less thing to worry bout...

The Family Portrait of us on the Block taken with babys camera and the trusty timer function and tripod not bad for an 8 yr old eh ?
Here is the Back fence yep this may very well be the last pic of the Block empty.. You can see the width of it by the fact that the bossy little missy made us stand on either side fence to take this pic lol...
