Well we are getting our Oval bathtub... YAY

Well the Bath problem is resolved and we are now getting the oval one whoohoo a small victory to me ....

We went to the house and the plaster is up in heaps of areas but alas we could not gain entry as there was a team of guys not of Australian descent having a heart attack about us being on the property so this was the only pic I could get ... we then went to the cinema and saw Tangled which was AWESOME... by the time we got back well it was dark so hoping to do the sneaky tonight and take pix but dont know if they will lock us out from now on...

HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY !!!

OH DEAR NOT HAPPY JAN NOT HAPPY AT ALLLLL !!!!

 Well here is the finished facade (bar the timber insert being painted) and the Timber above the front door... the rest is now complete even the plaster is now there under the eves YAY .

 The timber will be woodland grey colour

 The Brick Sils

 The finished Louvre aroudn the windows yet to be painted... HOWEVER

There is a A LOT of trouble on the horizon we are just about to go to lockup the sills are none and everything is ready for the plastering to begin and then it happened... Nareces bath tub arrived... its bloody square ... yep thats right we paid over $1000 extra for the round semi recessed sinks only to have a bloody rectangular squared off bath here it is 

 The glitch here is that the drain hole is in the center of the bathtub and therefore the plumbing drain is in the wrong place fo them to replace it with a oval one however I am fighting them on theis one and have written a rather to the POINT to say the least email to them detailing how unhappy we are and that out of 3 design sales specialists someone should have noticed that the wron bath was ordered ...of course they are trying to pin it on us but I am not budging on this... i have already sucked egg enuff with this build as in I have allowed them to change my facade setback, put another solar panel on the roof as my house is not facing the right way at a cost of $1000 extra, the delays at the start of the build, my laundty being  1/2 the size we planned it to be and now this ... I did some research and have sent them options of a HEAP of baths that have a drain in the center of the tub so that they will not have to dig up the slab and redo the plumbing which will be major work ... they also got the cavity feature wall wrong between the Living and Fmaily rooms which I am having rebuilt atm see pic

As for the Laundry I have done some homework and have found a way to utilize the space on the ceiling for the purpose of drying my clothes and towels etc... the laundry as it is will not have the space to open up a clothes horse so I HAD to think outside the square.. well here is my answer they are European Ceiling Airers and I will put 2 in the laundry to get space to dry that i dont have ... Pretty clever hey.

Will keep you all posted on the developments and I am truly hoping that we can reach some sort of resolution as I will do my block if they tell me to suck eggs one more time... 

SO ALL  FUTURE PEOPLE READING THIS THAT ARE PLANNING TO BUILD ...NOTE:* THE PICTURES ON  YOUR PLANS ARE NOT ONLY WHERE THE THINGS WILL GO BUT EXACTLY THE TYPE YOUR GETTING... LOOK AT YOUR ELEVATION DRAWINGS CLOSELY ... We were NOT made aware of this and thought that our conversations with 3 different ppl from the builders meant something and that they were efficient and experienced enough to do the right thing and order the discussed items correctly (the items are just a bunch of code and how were we to know what the hell they meant. ) DON'T LET IT HAPPEN TO YOU ... BE WARNED!!!

Well we had the meeting ANNNNDD......

There was nothing we could do re the size of the laundry so that is just UNFORTUNATE !

Darren was very sympathetic to the situation and told the carpenter to put extra noggins in the wall so that we can mount some sort of drying racks above the benchtop will see what we come up with ...
The power points and the antenna points will be fixed and we will attempt to have an extra power point put in the Garage.
The Cavity between rooms was at the wrong height and will be fixed.
The plasterers will be there later this week or early next week which is very exciting and Darren said that it will not be long now till LockUP soooo exciting ...
One step closer to completion.

Ok here we go ... A big update for a change... yep you guessed it we have had major happenings in the house... here is the Aircon and Heating unit ...its in whoohooo

So there you have all the updates picture wise. Now let me fillyou in on one of the problems we have encountered. 

Our house is a hybrid between the Hartley 32 and hartly 34 we were told that our laundrey would be short and fat as in  wider but shorter than that of the 32 sq version we were happy with this ... Now that the insulation is in and we can get a proper perspective on the size of it i belive there was a mistake made on the plans that we did not notice as it was just numbers on a page... it appears to be too small as in skinny and short so now i have a mini laundry ... I have smsed Darren our site manager to see what we can do about it ... I dont think I would be 100% happy with our home if the laundry remains that small so heres hoping we can settle it quickly.. At the beginning we were told that once the final drawrings were complete we would pay $500 per change hmmm i think ultimately that may be a small cost for a bigger laundry will c what they come back with ... keep those fingers xed... as they have to fix the cavity window between the living area and the Aquarium room which has been built the same size as the 32 instead of the 34 which is what we have on our variations so since the carpenter is coming back anyways well heres hoping that we can do the change at the same time... just a shame we didnt get the size perspective prior to the actual bats going in the walls but better than it happening AFTER the plaster is fully up I say lol

Well here we are on the Second day of 2011

Here we are in 2011 we had a quiet family night spent on the family beach in Patterson
Lakes ... HAPPY PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR TO U ALL
On the home front not much is new, we have moved to a 3 bedroom townhouse for the next 5 mths just 900 mts from our build site so that will be my daily exercise regime to walk down and check on the progress ....
On one such trip we noticed that the carpenters have made a booboo as one of the feature window walls going from the living area to the kitchen area height is wrong, Dohhh I had to laugh as only when Monty leaned on it with both arms did it dawn on me that it was too low. Of course the building super is on holls until the 14th so an even bigger DOHHH THERE LOL oh well they will have to fix it before they start the plaster.. Thank god I noticed it now .. Ok well that's it from moi xxx mwahhh to u will be in touch once there is movent at the station! over n out
